Moya App 

There’s also a free app called Moya by SASSA that grant recipients can use. This app lets you check your grant status without using any data/internet on your phone!

Income-Related Statuses 

Alternative Income Identified:  

It looks like you might already be getting money from somewhere else (like unemployment benefits). Because of that, you might not qualify for the SASSA grant this time.  If you think this info is wrong, contact SASSA to explain. 

Means Income Identified: 

Stop sign! It looks like you might be earning too much money from a job or investments to qualify for the SASSA grant this time. 

Re-application and Payment Statuses 

Application Complete (Re-application): 

Good job! You reapplied for the SASSA grant. They’ll check again each month to see if you qualify. Keep an eye on your application status to see if you get approved! 

Bank Details Pending: 

Hold on! SASSA has your application, but they need your bank account information to send you the money. You can usually do this online or by visiting a SASSA office. 

Re-application Pending: 

Uh oh! It looks like you haven’t reapplied for the SASSA grant yet. If you still want it, head over to the SASSA website and apply! 

Month-Specific Statuses 

SRD Pending: 

Not yet! Your application for [Month you applied for, e.g., March] is still being reviewed by SASSA. Check back later to see if there are any updates. 

SRD Approved: 

Great news! Your application for [Month you applied for, e.g., March] was approved! Keep an eye out for a text message (SMS) with the details about your grant money. 

SRD Declined: 

Sorry to hear! Your application for [Month you applied for, e.g., March] wasn’t approved this time. They gave a reason why, so check that out. If you think the reason is wrong, you can try to change their mind (appeal) on the SASSA website. 

Finding Your Nearest SASSA Office
